Project Overview
Lucky Elephant Yoga & Wellness is a community-focused yoga studio in Apex, North Carolina, where I serve as Studio Manager and Teacher. The studio is home to a diverse team of instructors, volunteers, and members, and my role bridges operations, marketing, and community-building. I support the owner as her right hand, ensuring the studio runs smoothly while growing engagement through both in-person and digital initiatives.
My Role
Operations & Systems
Oversee day-to-day studio operations, including onboarding and offboarding teachers, scheduling classes, and coordinating trainings and workshops. Manage front desk staff and volunteer program, creating systems that ensure efficiency and a welcoming client experience.
Marketing & Community Outreach
Design flyers, posters, and promotional materials for classes, special events, and workshops. Manage monthly newsletters and email campaigns, ensuring consistent and engaging communication with our community. Coordinate partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations to expand the studio’s reach.
Platform & Tech Support
Provide support for Momence, our scheduling and client management platform, assisting teachers and students in navigating digital tools for sign-ups, payments, and memberships.
Teaching
Lead regular yoga classes, workshops, and special offerings that bring mindfulness, movement, and community connection to students.
Impact
At Lucky Elephant, my work has:
Streamlined administrative systems to create smoother onboarding, scheduling, and event coordination.
Improved client communication and engagement through clear, creative newsletters and flyers.
Strengthened studio culture and community by supporting teachers, volunteers, and clients alike.
Increased efficiency and professionalism in behind-the-scenes systems, freeing the owner to focus on vision and growth.
Through this role, I’ve honed skills in operations, digital marketing, event planning, and community management, while also contributing creatively through class design and marketing content. The combination of structure and creativity has made me an integral part of the studio’s growth and ongoing success.
Marketing Materials
I designed a variety of promotional materials to highlight studio events, workshops, and teacher trainings. These included printed flyers, posters displayed in the studio and community spaces, and digital graphics shared through email and social media. Each piece of marketing balanced clarity with creativity, ensuring the content was easy to follow while reflecting the warmth and professionalism of the studio.
Email Campaigns
I created and managed monthly newsletters to keep students informed of upcoming classes, events, and announcements. These email campaigns were designed to be clear, engaging, and visually consistent, helping strengthen the studio’s relationship with its community. By combining promotional content with thoughtful storytelling, I cultivated a sense of connection that extended beyond the studio walls.
Community & Events
Community is at the heart of Lucky Elephant. I supported and coordinated a wide range of events — from yoga workshops and teacher trainings to wellness pop-ups and themed gatherings. My role included marketing, logistics, and on-the-ground support to ensure events ran smoothly and participants felt welcomed.
Lessons Learned
At Lucky Elephant, I’ve learned the importance of weaving community, creativity, and systems together. I discovered how much I enjoy designing behind-the-scenes processes that make a business thrive — from onboarding workflows to event planning checklists.
I also found joy in branding and content creation: designing flyers, writing newsletters, and building campaigns that inspire people to engage. Most importantly, I’ve seen the power of supporting someone else’s vision. Working as the right hand to the owner showed me that helping a leader stay focused while I manage the details is not just rewarding — it’s where I do my best work.
This experience has confirmed that I thrive when I can combine organization, creativity, and community support, whether through business operations, design, or event management.
